TRTA MISSION STATEMENT

The Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) advocates improved benefits for all education retirees and promotes the well–being of its members. Main objectives include:
​
• Advocating improved benefits for all present and future public-school retirees and promoting the well–being of its members.
• Serving as the premier voice of education retirees in promoting members’ interests and supporting public education.
• Providing and maintaining a functional and united organization for all public education retirees.
• Providing guidance to local units in areas of leadership training, retirement education events, legislation and other programs intended to improve the livelihood of public education retirees.
• Cooperating with associations of active school employees and with associations of retired persons in solving problems of mutual concern.
• Encouraging public education retirees to give voluntarily of their time, talents, training, and experience in the furtherance of education and civic endeavors in the community, the state, and the nation.
